Hermeneus is an ancient Greek term meaning “interpreter”. It comes from the Greek messenger of the Gods, Hermes, and is the root of the English word “hermeneutic”, the science of interpretation.
A great definition of hermeneutics is “the search for reasons, not causes” and that lies at the heart of our work. When we interpret data we look not for simple causal links, but for the deeper reasons why things are they way they are in an organisation. Only then can we get meaningful insight that organisations can truly use to make meaningful and lasting change.
At Hermeneus Consulting we take a hermeneutic approach to our work in interpreting measurement and diagnostic data. It’s not light touch or high level, it’s thorough, in depth, because only by doing that can we truly help our clients.
